Slowly cut down on processed foods. Try eating fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains and fish.
Eat clean, be happy. Reduce or eliminate alcohol, caffeine, dairy, meat and sugar.
Green means go. Slowly incorporate green juices and smoothies by drinking them once a day for a week prior to the cleanse.
Hydration station! Drink plenty of purified water to improve your skin, boost your immune system and mood as well as aid in weight loss.
You may feel withdrawal symptoms such as headaches, fatigue, breakouts and mood swings, even a bit of nausea… but stay positive! This means you’re body is detox-ing and getting rid of icky impurities. Soon you will feel less congested, less bloated and can look forward to greater mental clarity and clearer skin.
Treat yourself. Enjoy a spa day with a sauna, steam room or even a massage. Not only is it relaxing but, in addition to dry-skin brushing and lymphatic massages, these are great ways to flush the toxins out of the bloodstream.
Write on. Keep a journal and record when intense emotions are being released. Cleansing isn’t just beneficial for the body but for can be for the mind, as well.
Get steamy. Enjoy a hot bath with essential oils. Draw a hot bath that contains a handful of Epsom salts, 10 drops of lavender essential oil, and a half cup of baking soda. This combo draws out toxins, lowers stress-related hormones, and balances your pH levels.
Go hot and cold. Finish your morning shower by alternating between water temperatures as hot and cold as you can stand. The technique increases circulation, which in turn flushes the lymphatic system.
Go your own way. You may feel that you want to be active and continue your normal routine on cleanse day or you may want to lay low, restore and renew yourself. Listen to your body- it knows what it’s talking bout!
To market, to market we… no! This may seem simple but wait to do grocery shopping until after your cleanse- why tempt yourself?!
Log off. Participate in a “technology cleanse”- if possible, stay off of social media sites, cellphones, and computers. Your mind and body will feel an extra wave of renewal having time away from these stimuli.
Buddy system. Find a cleanse partner to help keep each other accountable and provide encouragement and support.
Stretch yourself thin. If you’re going to exercise, do so gently. Your body needs to rest and rebuild. Try gentle stretching, short walks in the fresh air or yoga.
Take it easy, baby. Come out a cleanse surely and steadily. By operating tortoise style, you will have a greater chance of keeping the weight off. Try to follow this guideline: you really want to take twice as many days to come out of the cleanse as you were on the cleanse.
End as you began. Very deep, we know. Try to eat as many fresh fruits and veggies and whole grains as possible. Stay away from alcohol, caffeine, sugar, and processed foods.
Probiotic power. It is very important that the friendly bacteria in our gut be restored for optimal digestive health. Through antibiotics, overeating and eating loads of processed foods we kill off so much of this highly beneficial flora in our stomach that helps us lose weight and fight off disease.
Let the enzymes roll. Incorporate metabolic enzymes. These eat away at all the undigested proteins in your blood and then actually rebuild tissue. After some time you may notice your eyes will become brighter, your skin more toned, and even the disappearance of cellulite!
Take your vitamins! Due to the poor vitamin and mineral content in our soil we are really deprived of nutrients. When selecting a multi vitamin supplement, make sure it comes from a company that doesn’t isolate the nutrients; but rather derives it from the whole plant, fruit and vegetables. In addition to drinking our whole food juices, taking whole food supplements are a way to ensure you are on the way to feeling like the best, happiest, brightest version of yourself.
